At the recent MinExchange 2023 conference held in Denver, Colorado, the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME) has officially launched the fourth edition of the SME Surface Mining Handbook.

The updated edition, 30 years after its predecessor, provides a world-class resource and guide for professionals in the mining industry across the world on a broad range of topics covering efficient, safe, and effective surface mining.

The publication distills the collective knowledge of the surface mining industry’s most recognised professionals. The Surface Mining Handbook is an invaluable resource for professionals in the surface mining industry. Along with Roger Thompson from Mineravia and Tony Cutler from Otraco, Damir has co-authored the chapter on Haul Roads, Tires, and Traffic Management.
