Damir Vagaja

RTSM Consulting was established and is led by its Principal Consultant, Damir Vagaja.

Damir is an experienced Senior Traffic Engineer and for the last 15 years he has conducted numerous traffic engineering, transport planning and traffic management studies in technical and project management roles. Damir’s particular area of interest is road safety and has carried out a variety of road safety audits and projects for clients in the private and government sector.

Having previously worked on large scale mining projects in Western Australia, Damir has thorough understanding and knowledge of the specific requirements and challenges difficulties faced by the resource industry in managing safety and efficiency of transport operations. His expertise lays in applying the fundamentals of traffic engineering for addressing challenges and risks associated with transport activities on mining, oil and gas operations.

Damir is an accomplished presenter and author with the reputation as a leading Australasian expert in this particular field of risk management.

Damir participates in continuous professional development programs and is associated with professional bodies thus ensuring that he is constantly abreast with the latest developments and trends in the current traffic engineering practice.

His hands-on delivery approach ensures that clients obtain relevant and practical ‘how to’ advice to improve the efficiency and reduce the risk for all involved in transport activities.

Damir’s current memberships and credentials include membership of Engineers Australia (NER), the Australian Institute of Traffic Planning and Management and accreditations as a Senior Road Safety Auditor and a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
