Road Safety Audits Milestone

RTSM Consulting has recently reached the milestone of 100 registered Road Safety Audits carried out as Team Leader across Western Australia.
A most sincere Thank You to the many clients and team members that have been part of this journey.
Reflecting on some of the most common findings from such a broad range of audits, there is a large number of issues that could be resolved through a more thorough inspection and maintenance regime by road authorities. The type of issues that could be addressed include:
- Condition of pedestrian crossing facilities (e.g. damaged or missing TGSIs, misaligned ramps)
- Shared path hazards (e.g. debris, edge drop offs)
- Condition of lines and signs (e.g. damaged, poor reflectivity, obscured)
- Vegetation management (e.g. obscuring visibility, obstructing vehicles or pedestrians)
- Condition of road surface (e.g. accumulated sand, surface defects)
- Hazards in the clear zone (e.g. vegetation, landscaping)
Road safety audits and road safety inspections are one of the approaches to identify these issues and reduce the road authorities future costs and liabilities.
